Overview

Raptor is an intelligent shortlisting engine that automatically generates a ranked list of the most relevant candidates for each job.
Although users only see a single “Raptor” button in the UI, it runs multiple automated checks in the background to deliver high-quality, job-ready candidates.

What Raptor Does Behind the Scenes

When triggered, Raptor analyzes job requirements and candidate data to create a prioritized shortlist based on true hiring fit, not just keyword matches.
It ensures recruiters get the most suitable candidates quickly without manual screening.

Smart Ranked Shortlists

Raptor produces a ranked shortlist of candidates for every job based on overall fit score.
The shortlist size dynamically expands depending on job openings (minimum 25 candidates, then increases proportionally with higher openings).

Must-Have Skill Validation

Before displaying candidates, Raptor checks for mandatory skills defined in the job requirements.
Candidates missing critical skills are automatically filtered out to maintain shortlist quality.

Duplicate Prevention

Raptor automatically skips candidates who are already added to the same job.
This prevents redundant submissions and keeps the pipeline clean.

Priority-Based Candidate Boosting

The system gives higher priority to:

  • Local candidates (location fit)

  • Candidates with recent interview activity

This improves submission success and client relevance.

Interview Activity Filtering

Raptor can focus only on candidates who already have interview activity.
This helps recruiters target pre-engaged and job-ready candidates.

Experience and Compensation Alignment

Candidates significantly misaligned on experience level or pay expectations are reduced or excluded.
This ensures the shortlist remains realistic and actionable for the job role.

Clear Match Scores and Fit Labels

Each shortlisted candidate is displayed with:

  • Match Score

  • Rank Position

  • Easy-to-understand Fit Labels

This allows quick decision-making without deep manual analysis.

Detailed Candidate Cards

Every candidate card includes essential hiring information such as:

  • Role and Current Company

  • Location

  • Experience

  • Availability

  • Contact Details

  • Current Hiring Status

This provides a complete evaluation snapshot in one view.

Match Explanation (Top Candidates)

For high-ranking candidates, Raptor may display a short match explanation.
This helps recruiters understand why a candidate is a strong fit for the job.

Real-Time Data Refresh

Raptor refreshes candidate and job data every hour in the background.
This keeps shortlist results updated with the latest profiles, interviews, and job changes.

Assign to Job Pool

On shortlisting, users can click “Assign” to add the selected candidate directly to their pool under the corresponding job.
This streamlines workflow from discovery to action in a single step.

Why Raptor is Important

Raptor reduces manual sourcing effort, improves shortlist accuracy, and accelerates hiring by automatically surfacing the most relevant candidates for each job with ranked, explainable results.
